Concord Square, working with two former members of the Marshfield Historical Commission - Betty Bates and Joan Scolponeti - was hired by the Town of Hanover, MA to draft the Town’s first Historical Preservation Plan. After an eight-month planning process including extensive research, interviews with municipal officials and staff, and a citizen roundtable discussion, a draft plan was circulated and revised over a period of several months. In September 2007, the resulting plan was endorsed by a unanimous vote of the Hanover Historical Commission. The Historical Preservation Plan was designed to complement the Town’s broader planning process that will lead to an update to the Town’s Master Plan. The Historical Preservation Plan includes many detailed policy recommendations, one of which was introduced by the Historical Society as a Community Preservation Act funding article to be considered at the Spring 2008 Town Meeting.

In 2008, Concord Square was a co-recipient of an Outstanding Planning Project Award recognizing the Hanover master planning initiative, including the Historical Preservation Plan, by the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Planning Association.
