Concord Square was hired by the Town of Kingston to oversee the drafting and adoption of a 40R Smart Growth Zoning District Bylaw and Design Standards that allows the construction of 730 housing units, a mixed use town center, and 300,000 square feet of office / commercial space. The 40R zoning district was approved at Kingston’s April 2007 Town Meeting.

The project received one of five statewide awards at the 2007 Massachusetts Smart Growth / Smart Energy Conference. The Massachusetts Chapter of the American Planning Association also recognized Concord Square’s work on the Kingston 40R Bylaw and Design Standards with a 2007 Outstanding Planning Award / Planning Project. Other Kingston award recipients include Town Planner Tom Bott, Thorndike Development, Rachel Goldsmith and Go Consulting, and The Cecil Group.
