Marblehead, MA: 40R

Concord Square Planning and Development was hired in July 2008 by the Town of Marblehead to evaluate all B2 zoning districts for potential applicability of 40R. Working with the Smart Growth Advisory Committee, we then conducted a well-attended public workshop in October 2008. We started with six study areas which we then reduced to the two locations that made sense for 40R.

The 40R application was submitted in January 2009, including Zoning and Design Standards. We held another public workshop in February 2009. In April 2009, our Design Standards were finalized and Zoning was approved by unanimous vote at Town Meeting.
